Consultations Gratuites in London
The Consultations gratuites Scheme is designed to provide an independent legal advice and assistance in French to French-speaking individuals who are confronted with the UK legal system and who have insufficient resources to pay for solicitors’ fees. The Scheme will be run by French speaking lawyers, either French lawyers with English legal qualifications, or English lawyers who speak good French (the “Advisors”).
The legal advice will include information on how the UK legal system is organised, how to find an expert solicitor, the conditions for legal aid and referral to other pro bono schemes. Specific legal advice will be given on individual matters where the Advisor has the required expertise to provide such advice. The Scheme will not cover Criminal, Immigration, Family and Business Law.
The Consultations gratuites will take place in the crypt of St Mary’s Church (Upper Street, N1 2TX).
