The Society has great pleasure in announcing that SIMON JOHN HORSINGTON, Avocat International, has been honoured by the French Government with the award of

CHEVALIER DE L’ORDRE DU MERITE MARITIME (Ch OMm).

The award, made in February 2009, is in recognition of Simon’s Franco-British legal activities, and his initiative in creating the Biannual Maritime Colloquium. Due to Simon’s efforts and commitment this is now a regular feature in the Society’s calendar. The first Colloquium, held at the EOCM Lanvéoc, Brest in May 2006, was followed in June 2008 by the Conference held at the Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth , and in 2010 the 3rd Colloquium will be held in Paris
